TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver Course

This course examines the use of EAN-21 through one hundred (100) percent oxygen for optimal mixes to a depth of forty (40) msw. The objective of this course is to train divers in the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for utilizing EAN-21 through one hundred (100) percent oxygen for dives not requiring staged decompression. Decompression techniques may be combined with this course at the discretion of the instructor.

You must :

1. Be a minimum age of fifteen (15).
2. Have a minimum certification of TDI Nitrox Diver (or equivalent).
3. Show poof of twenty-five (25) logged open water dives.
4. If this course is taught in conjunction with the TDI Decompression Procedures Course, then the minimum age is eighteen (18).

What you can expect to learn:

Advanced Nitrox picks up where TDI Nitrox leaves off and offers a more in-depth look at diving with nitrox including:

  • Physics and physiology relating to diving with gas mixes containing more than 40% oxygen
  • Gas planning, dive tables, dive computers, oxygen limitations, nitrogen limitations
  • Equipment considerations, cylinder labeling, analyzing nitrox mixtures, gas blending procedures, and oxygen service ratings for using gases with more than 40% oxygen
What’s in it for you?
  • Ability to dive using EAN 21 through 100 percent oxygen provided:
    • The diving activities approximate those of training
    • The areas of activities approximate those of training
    • Environmental conditions approximate those of training
  • Ability to enroll in TDI Decompression Procedures, TDI Semi-closed Rebreather courses, TDI Closed Circuit rebreather courses

Tec 40 and Tec 40 Trimix

Consists of seven knowledge development sections, four practical application sessions and four training dives. Designed for the diver transitioning from recreational diving to technical diving.

The PADI Tec 40 course is where you transition from recreational diving to technical diving. It’s a natural progression from Tec Basics, or it can be your first tec diver course. It is the bridge between no stop diving and technical decompression diving. You will gain experience and begin building the knowledge and skills you need to continue your tec diver training. You will qualify to make limited decompression dives to 40 metres/130 feet and use up to 50 percent oxygen as a decompression gas.

To enroll in the Tec 40 course, you must be:
  • PADI Advanced Open Water Diver, and PADI Rescue Diver recommended
  • PADI Enriched Air Diver
  • PADI Deep Diver or proof of 10 dives to 30 metres/100 feet or deeper
  • 30 logged dives
  • 18 years old
Academic

The Tec 40 course consists of seven knowledge development sections, four practical application sessions and four training dives. You’ll learn about:

  • Technical diving risks and responsibilities
  • Technical diving equipment, dive equipment configuration, and use
  • Team diving and communication
  • Decompression and gas planning using dive planning software
  • Team diving techniques and emergency procedures to deal with free flows and out of gas situations
  • Thinking Like a Technical Diver
  • Handling Underwater Problems
  • Introduction to Trimix (for Tec 40 Trimix students)
Tec 40 Trimix (option)

Curious about the benefits of using Trimix gas, like decreased gas density and reduced narcosis? Tec 40 divers can also learn to use trimix with not less than 21 percent oxygen and not more than 35 percent helium. Ask your instructor what additional requirements you may need to complete the Tec 40 Trimix option.

IANTD - Deep Diver

This Programme is designed to provide responsible training to divers who plan to dive to a maximum of 39 msw on air.

The IANTD Deep Diver Programme trains divers in skills, performance, theory and planning of deep dives.

This Programme remains within the commonly practiced depth of 39 msw, and is the first sanctioned international Programme to provide proper training in safe deep diving skills and performance.

It is recommended that this Programme be taught in conjunction with the IANTD EANx Diver Programme or the Recreational Trimix Diver Programme or the IANTD Advanced EANx Diver Programme. This program qualifies divers to dive to 39 msw

PREREQUISITES

Must be qualified as an IANTD Advanced Open Water Diver or equivalent.

Must provide proof of a minimum of 10 logged dives.

Must be a minimum of 15 years of age with a parent or guardian authorization, or a minimum of 12 years of age for Junior Diver qualification, or a minimum of 18 years of age without guardian approval.

IANTD - Advanced Nitrox

The IANTD Advanced Nitrox Diver course allows the diver to dive to a max depth of 42 msw using up to pure oxygen for decompression up to 1.5 partial pressure and make a maximum of 15 min. of decompression.

PREREQUISITES

Must be qualified as an IANTD EANx Diver and IANTD Deep with proof of a minimum of 30 logged dives or sufficient experience to satisfy the instructor that the student has the ability and knowledge to continue into this level of training.

Must be a minimum of 15 years of age with a parent or guardian authorization, or a minimum of 18 years of age without guardian approval.
