TDI Trimix Instructor
The TDI Trimix Instructor Course provides the training required to competently and safely teach breathing
gases containing helium with no less then 18% Oxygen for dives that require staged decompression to a
maximum depth of 60 msw
You must be :
Minimum age of 2l
Minimum certification as a TDI Advanced Trimix Diver and a TDI Advanced Nitrox and
Decompression Procedures Instructor (or equivalent)
Proof of 15 certified Advanced Nitrox or Decompression Procedures divers with a minimum of 10
Decompression Procedures divers.
Minimum 250 logged dives with a minimum of 20 logged Trimix dives outside of training 10 of
these dives must be in the last 12 months.
Topics that candidates may be asked to present include:
Hypoxia
Nitrogen narcosis
Helium absorption and elimination
Counter diffusion
Dive planning
Gas switching procedures

IANTD Normoxic Trimix Instructor
This Programme is designed to provide a more in-depth knowledge of Normoxic Trimix Diving.
Normoxic Trimix Instructors may teach Open Water Diver through Normoxic Trimix Diver.
Must assist in at least one Normoxic Trimix Diver Programme. This may be prior to or during the IEC.
You must:

Must be qualified as an IANTD Advanced EANx Instructor in Active Teaching Status, and IANTD Trimix Diver or equivalent.
Must have taught a minimum of 3 Open Water, 3 Advanced Open Water, 3 EANx, and 3 Advanced EANx Diver Programs.
Must have a minimum of two years of teaching experience.
Must provide proof of a minimum of 350 logged dives, of which at least 100 were deeper than 39 msw and at least 25 were on Normoxic Trimix or Trimix.
Must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
If upgrading from Technical Instructor to Normoxic Trimix Instructor on OC: Must provide proof of a minimum of 350 logged dives, of which at least 150 were deeper than 39 msw and at least 25 were on Trimix.
