Junior Open Water Diver (ages 10-14)
Young people can take the full PADI Open Water Diver scuba certification course and upon completion will become Junior Open Water Divers with certain age limitations for scuba diving:
Junior Open Water Divers ages 10-11 years old must dive with a PADI Professional or certified parent/guardian. Dives must not exceed 12 metres .
Junior Open Water Divers ages 12-14 years old must dive with a certified adult. (13+ years old can take the Open Water Diver course online.
Bubblemaker (ages 8+)
This is a good way for children to experience scuba diving in the pool in less than 2 meters of water. Celebrate a birthday by throwing a memorable, exciting Bubblemaker party with friends
Seal Team (ages 8+)
PADI Seal Team includes doing some cool stuff in the pool, meeting friends and sharing in the adventure of the underwater world. To join the PADI Seal Team, a child must be 8 years of age or older. No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but kids should be comfortable in the water. Parental approval is required.
The PADI Seal Team is for young divers who are looking for action-packed fun in a pool by doing exciting scuba AquaMissions. Divers are introduced to underwater photography, navigation, environmental awareness and more.
SDI JUNIOR OPEN WATER SCUBA DIVER
The SDI Junior Open Water Scuba Diver course is designed to train youth divers the necessary academics and skills to conduct open water dives alongside a dive professional or certified scuba diver parent until the age of 15. This course is the first step to start exploring the underwater world or even in your backyard.
Who this course is for:
10-14 year olds wishing to become a certified scuba diver who hold interest in the underwater world
Course prerequisites:
Minimum age 10 with parental consent
Students between the ages of 10 through 14 may obtain an SDI Junior Open Water Scuba Diver Certification if the following conditions are met: junior students are to train and dive under the direct supervision of a parent, guardian, or active dive professional
When an SDI Junior Open Water Diver reaches the age of 15, they may upgrade to an SDI Open Water Scuba Diver certification
SDI Junior Open Water Scuba Diver minimum requirements:
Demonstrate mature and sound judgment concerning dive planning and execution
Satisfactorily complete the SDI Junior Open Water Scuba Diver Knowledge Quest or equivalent SDI online learning exam with a passing score of 80%, followed by 100% remediation by the Instructor. Instructors my use additional exams .
Complete all open water requirements safely and efficiently
IANTD junior open water diver
This Program is designed to provide comprehensive training to those who wish to become SCUBA divers.
This Program emphasizes the skills and knowledge needed to develop a safer novice diver and to develop a sense of confidence and responsibility in those joining the adventures of underwater discovery.
You must be
Must be a minimum of 15 years of age with a parent or guardian authorization, or a minimum of 12 years of age for Junior Diver qualification, or a minimum of 18 years of age without guardian approval.
