- Perform all land drills and open water dive requirements safely and efficiently
- Demonstrate mature, sound judgment concerning dive planning and execution
- Log all dives
What’s in it for you?
Upon successful completion of this course, graduates may engage in sidemount diving activities without direct supervision, provided the following limits are adhered to:
- Safety stops as appropriate
- Planned dives do not exceed diver’s current certification level
PADI Tec Sidemount
If you’ve looked into technical diving, you realize that tec divers always wear more than one tank. Sidemount is an increasingly popular way to configure multiple cylinders for technical diving. You can enter the world of tec diving with the Tec Sidemount Diver course and apply what you learn to other TecRec courses.
Academic :
You’ll learn about the advantages of diving with a sidemount configuration and how to set up a tec sidemount harness. You’ll get hands-on training during one confined water session and four open water dives where you’ll start with two tanks and add at least two more, maybe even getting to six sidemounted cylinders.
Why Tec SideMount :
Wearing more than one tank has become increasingly popular for technical diving. With the Tec Sidemount Diver course you can apply what you learn to other TecRec courses.
IANTD Technical Open Water Sidemount
With the IANTD Technical Open Water Sidemount Diver course, you’ll go beyond the the basics of the sidemount diving configuration and apply these sidemount diving skills towards technical diving. Â Sidemount is a gear configuration in which a diver wears a tank on each side of his body instead of mounted on his back. Sidemount tanks lie parallel to the body, below the shoulders and along the hips. Â For cave diving, sidemount can help you get through some tight places easier.
How deep can you dive with the IANTD Tek OW Sidemount Diver Program?
No dives may be conducted to depths greater than diver previous certification level.
What do you need to enroll in this program?
A minimum of 15 years of age or higher.
Any Tek Lite Program, Technical Program or Overhead Program can be combined with the Tek Open Water Sidemount Diver Program
